Strategies to manage your business on the go

If you are like me and so many of my customers. You’re probably juggling more than just a business. You likely have family commitments. Small town volunteering. Maybe even a farm or property that demands your time.

You spend more time in the car than in your office?

Yeah. You’re definitely in the right place.

These are my top strategies to running your business on the go.

First. Everything needs to be in the cloud. Your to do list, your document creation, your finance system, emails. Everything needs to live in the cloud. So you can access from anywhere. I think a majority of business owners have progressed to this point now that it is 2022- but just in case you haven’t. Get bootscooting and get in the cloud.

The next strategy that is absolutely key. An online booking calendar. You do not have time to exchange 18 emails with someone to secure a time. Your client also doesn’t have time for that. You have to have an online calendar. If you’ve dreamed of growing and scaling your business, and you don’t have this… get it today.

Calendly and acuity are among the most popular. I personally use Satori, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

Team communication. You’ve got to have a way to delegate on the go. Whether that be in a project management system, emails or a tool like slack. I truly believe your ability to delegate and communicate with your team is directly tied to your growth. You're not going to hit big numbers like multiple six figures on your own.

Boundaries. Yes, boundaries are a strategy! They mean your clients don’t expect a 20 minute response turn around. I recommend you set the boundary with your client in the initial contract and any onboarding documents. You can also include your response time or client facing hours as a part of your email signature if appropriate.

I can’t talk about building a business that fits with your life without mentioning aligned packages. This is something that I see a lot. Someone has built a business and offers packages that aren’t flexible and In flow with their life. You’re too caught up in the time for money exchange rather than creating comprehensive packages that include high value, low effort components.

It is completely possible to build a business that is aligned to your life. You just have to be intentional when doing it.
